SHUT UP, START UP, AND STEP UP

SHUT UP, START UP, AND STEP UP
‘Don’t talk about what you are going to do, instead do it, and let others talk about it’-Steve Harris

When I decided to publish the M.O.V.E Achievers Compendium (Success Secrets of Nigerian Achievers), which by the way was a sold out publication, I procrastinated severely.I focused more on talking about rather than taking steps towards its realization. Eventually, it was published but I wasn’t prompt in taking action. I know you can relate with this story. You have projects you should be working on, a song you should be recording, a business you ought to have started .But you are doing more talking than taking steps towards the realization of your dream.

In the late 80’s he was of Nigeria’s biggest rising stars. The first actor to be paid a million naira for a movie role. He starred in several award winning roles and soon became a household name. Richard Mofedamijo never started from the top, in 1982 while in the university, he played the lead role in Echoes of wrath which was his first exposure to Television. He landed his first professional lead role in the film The Last Omen. He wasn’t just talking about his passion to be a renowned actor, he dared to take a chance on his dream, and today,he is a big shot in his area of expertise.

The challenge for many individuals is that they are waiting for the perfect timing in order to step out and be all they have been wired to be.A perfect timing is an illusion. Stepping out with divinity is the secret weapon of achievers.
It all started with a vision, to publish a magazine that empowers youth for change, in her hostel at the University of Jos. Amazingly, Rise grew and evolved rapidly into the grand daddy of all youth gatherings in Nigeria.

Today, this young but uncompromising lady heads one of Nigeria’s fastest growing youth businesses with revenues in tens of millions. Toyosi Akerele is a model to countless young Nigerians because she dared to shut up start up her business and now stepping up on the ladder to greatness.

Its time to stop complaining and start taking steps towards the writing of your own success story.More Action Less Talk(M.A.L.T).Go make it happen.

I AM PREGNANT

I AM PREGNANT
Hi dearest, I’m excited to have you here, hmmm, very sure your mind is wondering if you are really reading the right material. Well, yes you are. I can hear you repeatedly saying, “I am not pregnant”, by the way, what kind of title is this? Ok, just take a chill pill and let’s get started.............

Many years ago, when you were leaving heaven, God did not send you to a family in other to occupy space, He put some very unique and wonderful things inside of you so, that is what you are pregnant with. Well, you may think you cannot do anything, that is a big lie from the devil, there is something so unique about you that the only person who can do it and will do it beautifully well is you. I don’t need to ask you if it’s weird for a woman to carry a baby in her all through her life cause it is obviously weird. It’s also very weird for you to carry that beautiful gift on your inside without giving birth to it inotherwords, expressing it.

Dearest, enough of carrying the due pregnancy around, well, your expected date of delivery is now, your labour should start now and that beautiful baby should be delivered now. No matter how trivial you think it is, it could be that smile, that listening ear, that writing skill, well, whatever it is, your due date is now. Please do not die with that pregnancy, neither should you grow old with it.

The world is in a hurry to see that beautiful baby born. Hurry now to the labour room, common pushhhhhhhhhhhhhh and deliver that beautiful gift that would put smiles on the world’s face.
Loads of Love,
Smiling D.

FIGHT FOR THE DREAM

FIGHT FOR THE DREAM

Dreams on their own don’t come to fruition, until the dreamer is ready to stay in the dreamers ring and unwilling to give up the fight. In the personal pursuit of my dreams, I have had reasons to give up and like the youths will say ‘lock up’. But I have decided to keep at it and be willing to confront whatever stops me from being a champion. When Benjamin Disraeli attempted to speak in the Parliament for the first time they booed him into silence , but he said ‘Though I sit down now , the time will come when you will all hear me’.And they did.He became one of Britain’s best orators and Prime ministers. He fought for his dream.

Forget the illusion that your dreams will be achieved on a platter of gold. You, ve got to be willing to throw in more punches till you emerge a victor. Perhaps, others have dragged you down in life. They ve discouraged you from dreaming. May be they resented the fact that you wanted to move up or do something significant with your life. Take heart, its never too late to start dreaming and adding creams (actions) to your dreams. Dale Turner assserts’Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition , there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born’. Yes! There will be times when you will feel like your life has come to a screeching halt, and you are going nowhere. It is then you need to stay in the fight and get the winner’s crown.

Tyler Perry’s currently the richest entertainer in the world as confirmed by Forbes magazine, childhood in New Orleans was marked by a pattern of abuse by his father, and the bitterness from the broken relationship became a source of unforgiveness as Perry grew older, eventually moving to Atlanta. It was only after channeling his struggles through writing, that he found a deeper calling.
After praying for God to help him to forgive his father, whom he later reconciled with, Perry turned his turbulent story of forgiveness and redemption into the stage play I Know I’ve Been Changed. But after several unsuccessful shows, the 28-year-old playwright was broke and even lived on the streets on Atlanta when he couldn’t make ends meet. But even in the difficult times, Perry never doubted his calling. He fought for his dream.

Eventually, I Know I’ve Been Changed became a sleeper hit that offered audiences a refreshing glimpse into the hard, and often times funny things, that God can deliver you from. The play launched Perry into the status of a hot up-and-coming writer.
The success led him to adapt Bishop. T.D. Jakes’ bestselling book Woman Thou Art Loosed into a stage production—a project that exploded into a blockbuster hit. The buzz garnered from the play gave way to several feature films, which Perry writes, directs and acts in, often portraying a variety characters, including the good-natured (but often over-the-top) grandmother Medea.

Hold on to that dream of your yours, be willing to pay the price and in order to be inducted into the champion’s hall of fame.I will read your success story.
